Elvis is Alive!

Though Elvis
lived in Memphis at Graceland, he recorded his music in Nashville. When Elvis died
in 1977, it seemed like as many fans made the pilgrimage to Nashville
as to Memphis. Fans wanted to see Music Row and the RCA Studio "B"
where Elvis along with the backup Jordanaires Quartet recorded hit after hit after
hit. And many aspiring artists (like Tim McGraw when he started out) entertained tourists
for tips with Elvis' music along the strip of shops on Music Row,
which was just around the corner from the cassette-copying
business owned by Scotty Moore, Elvis' original guitarist who created
Elvis' trademark "rockabilly" background sound.
